The PCSS Open House scheduled for Thursday September 9 has been postponed until after this Covid 19 surge subsides. A new date will be sent out when we know we are in the clear. Thanks for your patience as we try to keep our community spread as minimal as possible.
A little update on pooled testing: We started pooled testing this week. We have sent two days' worth of samples out. I am doing the MS/HS on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the ES Tues-Fri. Because our first round has not been fully processed, the CDC is NOT allowing us to use it as a means of not quarantining with exposure this week. By Monday I fully expect us to be in the clear. That, unfortunately, is the reason, I believe, for so many close contacts.

Until the lights have been installed and ready to go, all soccer games scheduled to be played under the lights will be played at 4:00 unless it's a Saturday game; they will be played at 1:00. I have been informed that the work will begin on September 20, for the installation of the lights. The weather will play a huge factor going forward. I do not know how long this process will take as the individual doing this work, is taking time out of his busy scheduling, to make this happen. When they are up and running, adjustments to the schedule will happen as needed.

MSAD #4 had an emergency school board meeting last night on 9/2/21. Our Safe Return to School plan has not changed and is posted on our website. The minutes for this meeting will be approved on 9/14/21 and then will be posted to our website. The medical community has asked for our support in keeping the community safe. As a district, we will continue to have open dialog about the best way to support our community and keep students safe while in our schools. This is a fluid process and will be re-visited by the board at least monthly.

This announcement goes out to parents of 5th grade girls. If you have a daughter who is interested in playing middle school soccer, please email me at jgallant@sad4.org. The team is short on players so there is a need at this time for 5th graders. They must be able to show proof of a physical within the past two years. Paperwork can be picked up at PCHS in the main office. Practices are scheduled daily 4:30-6:00.
The slides presented at the PCSS Return to School Parent Information Meeting have been posted to the website on the COVID Information Page.
