A Message from the Special Education Department:
Dear Parents/Guardians:
First off, thank you for your encouragement as we work to support the health of our students. Many of you have worked with our department to schedule 504 and IEP meetings. During our period of closure, all 504/IEP meetings will be canceled and rescheduled when school is back in session and it is appropriate to do so. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
TCTC has been cancelled tomorrow and, as such, ALL TCTC Students need to attend PCHS to receive important information about the school closure. PCHS will run a 1/2 day shortened GOLD and BLUE day schedule tomorrow so all classes can be seen.
March 15, 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian:
I am informing you that we will have a half day of school tomorrow the 16th followed by a closure until March 30th. This decision was made after much input form area Superintendents, the Commissioner of Education and the Center for Disease Control. As you are probably aware, the situation with COVID-19 is rapidly changing and as a school district we need to support efforts to mitigate exposure by promoting social distancing.
Our teachers have been working on continuity of education while school is closed by putting together distance learning packets and web-based learning for our students. During our half day tomorrow staff will get this information to students and make sure they have the materials and devices needed for working at home.
I am very proud of how my staff has pulled together to work through this difficult time and do what is best for our students. We will continually meet and work out more details as we progress through this situation. I will post updates as needed.
Sincerely,
Kelly MacFadyen
MSAD #4 Superintendent
Due to the widespread Coronavirus and the recommendations from Maine CDC we have postponed our Pre-K and Kindergarten Informational meeting. There is no date set as of right now. We will keep you posted in the coming weeks!
The MPA Board of Directors and Interscholastic Management Committee voted today, March 13, 2020 to delay the start of the 2020 Spring sports pre-season practice until April 27, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make the appropriate changes as needed to ensure the safety of all students.
The Audiobody performance scheduled for April 10th has been canceled. Stay tuned for updates!
In response to recent updates on the COVID-19 virus, we are implementing the following plan:
Currently, school remains in session.
For the health and safety of all our students and staff we are limiting exposure/contact. Every event requiring travel or large groups between now and April break will be canceled. We will review this after the break.
SAD #4 is planning for the continuity of education in the case of school closure or high absenteeism. This may include online platforms, work packets and project based learning. This information will be shared with families when it becomes available.
If you have questions/concerns please feel free to contact the building principals.
The district will keep you informed of updates as they become available.
The DOE plans to continue MEA testing as scheduled starting March 16th.
The school is following CDC protocols and the DOE link to this information has been posted to our site as follows:
